The structured interview has been used widely and it is a method that has a great deal of potential but  there are also some problems of challenges that are associated with this methodology. These advantages and disadvantages of the approach need to be understood before a researcher can determine  whether or not it is suitable for specific research projects. Interviews may be defined as "an interchange of views between two or more people on a topic of mutual  interest, sees the centrality of human interaction for knowledge production, and emphasizes the social situatedness of research data" (Kvale, 1996; 14). In interviews there is the ability of the subject  of the interview to give their opinions, views or perceptions, it is seen by Cohen (et al, 2000) as being more than simple a collection of data that expresses aspects  about life, it is also a part of life and as such it is influenced by the same factors that may influence other issues in life.
