The fundamentals of successful communication and how it is best shaped in order to  reach the audience to which it is directed must never be overlooked. The process of segmentation, the development of a targeting strategy, as well as careful positioning of a message  are of the utmost importance in long-term success whether the message is in relationship to communicating the mission of an organization, selling a particular product, or supporting a particular  ideal or mindset. It is perhaps even more important to do all of those things within the organization itself. Credibility, openness, enthusiasm and plans for the future must be expressed  in ways that causes those hearing the message are both convinced and moved to action. This fact is true in politics, social justice, and certainly as part of an organizations  internal communication systems. At its most fundamental core, the issue is one of establishing and maintaining effective communication and positive employee relations is much more than just newsletters and memos.  It is a process that requires establishing relationships with various groups within the organization and then openly communicating with those groups. There are few realms where interpersonal and  organizational communication processes play a more important role than in a business setting. The workplace is where most people spend the vast majority of their time. It should not come  as any surprise that they are interested in what is going on there, how people interact with one another, and how they fit into the overall picture. This is true  from the executive offices to the file clerks. People what to feel that they are a part of something and that their contributions matter. It is a simple characteristic of
