replacement, brake checks and replacement, oil changes and general servicing. The service is differentiated with the ability of the qualified mechanic to travel to the driver and provide a high
level of convenience, with the convenience factor providing a source for a moderate degree of premium pricing. The service will be set up and operate and grow in terms of
the geographical area covered, with the aim of developing a strong brand name and robust business model that can then be expanded with the use of a franchise model, which
will allow for rapid growth. This is a market that has a great deal of potential. The aftermarket industry in the automotive sector, which includes the maintenance and repair
of cars and parts as well as the sale of accessories, was worth a total of $285 billion in 2008 according to the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA) (Franchise Direct,
2012). This is also a market that is expected to continue growing at a rate of 2.9% until the end of 2014 (Freedonia, 2010). By 2007 there were 250 million
vehicles registered as on the road in the US, indicating a high potential national market (Franchise Direct, 2012). The need for maintenance services is also increasing, as the cost of
cars increases the average age of the vehicles on the road is raising, this has increased to 10 years (Franchise Direct, 2012). As older cars require more maintenance this is
a positive sign for the provision of maintenance services. It is also assessed that there is an underperformance of this market. The AAIA estimated that in 2008 80% of vehicles
