    can forget Walden and the whole idea of an idyllic, natural place where one could find tranquility and spirituality. These are indeed the ideas of Thoreau. Thoreaus Idea  of The Wilderness Begin the body of your paper with an idea and then elaborate on that idea - Thoreau was  a great thinker and a very introspective person (The "Domestic Air" of Wilderness). His writings clearly reflect his spirituality and his ability to look inward and reflect upon deeper  issues (The "Domestic Air" of Wilderness). Completely intertwined with these reflections and beliefs was his reverence for nature and his belief that connecting with nature was primal and indeed  the first step to connecting with God. Thoreau spoke of the wilderness in most of his writing - from literature  which he wrote to personal letters to family and friends (Henry David Thoreau - Philosopher). His love for nature is clearly stated upon reflection of those works (Henry David  Thoreau - Philosopher). Thoreau however, did not simply revere nature, he wanted to take that reverence a step further, and participate in nature (Henry David Thoreau - Philosopher).  He believed nature and the wilderness to be the source of strength, vigor and inspiration.
