Also included will be the methodology by which a person is diagnosed and treated for this condition.  Results from ongoing studies will be introduced as well as a discussion of the future for the treatment of Orthostasis. INTRODUCTION:  The human body is still a source of constant amazement to the medical and scientific community. How a body so dynamically built can still manage to support and supply  the required blood and oxygen necessary to sustain life is an amazing feat in itself. This ability to remain upright is not without its tolls on the body. Orthostasis, or  the cardiovascular responses to the upright posture can lead to some rather uncomfortable, if not dangerous conditions. Blood pressure integrity can be said to remain constant by a combination of  several factors. First, of course, the heart pumps the blood throughout the system. However, if the heart is weakened or irregular in its function, then a situation of Orthostasis  develops(Smith, 1990). Conditions which may be contributing factors to Orthostasis may include pregnancy, heart attacks, and arrhythmia(Smith, 1990). If the heart is not able to pump enough blood then the  blood pressure within the veins drops, too. The volume of the blood is what maintains the pressure on the vein walls. As a result, when a person is suffering from  Orthostasis, he or she, may have fluctuating blood pressure as the veins try vainly to try and stimulate the pressure. Many people who take blood pressure medications do so  to correct the amount of pressure on the veins and the amount of blood going through the system. More than likely, if a persons blood pressure fluctuates wildly, the person
