occurs because of an abusive home or drug problems, this is one thing. However, many divorces occur without these causes but rather for emotional reasons (adultery, incompatibility and boredom). It
is these types of divorces that place trauma on children. Yet there are experts that would believe that it isnt divorce, so much,
that is the problem, but rather, the type of divorce that creates problems among children with broken homes. In this paper, well attempt to prove that the type of divorce
that occurs has more impact on children than the act of the actual divorce itself. First, however, there is the school of thought
that believes that no divorce is a good divorce; that divorce, for the most part, creates broken homes and chronically scarred individuals. Interestingly enough, not one of the people indicated
in this paper talks about divorce as a normal situation for children - and all indicate that the action of divorce causes its own problems for children. Yet none of
the authors cited believe that divorce, in and of itself, causes major emotional breakdowns. Psychologist Gary Neuman, for one, presents a classic reaction
of children of divorce. His believe (and observations) is that children of divorce tend to have higher rates of depression, substance abuse and delinquency (Neuman, 1998). Neuman, whose clientele is
based mainly on children of divorced parents, has noted that children feel a terrible loss during a divorce, that they tend to blame themselves and their lives are in upheaval
