in the headlines under such a condition, but for those who live on a daily basis in fear for their lives or the lives of their children, the American dream
becomes one long nightmare. This is the case between Angela Stewart and her companion, Sam. Angelas case is typical for many women who find themselves raising a child/children by themselves.
There is little free time, money is in short supply, and it never fails that something is always breaking down or in need of repair. Add to this mixture any
sense of failure, loneliness, or grief, and it makes the single female extremely vulnerable to those who she otherwise would not take into her confidence. Angela made some major mistakes,
it can be said. Firstly, even though her common sense was telling her that things were moving along quickly, faster than she felt comfortable with, she still allowed herself to
become aligned with this man. It would seem that her dream and aspirations for herself became secondary to holding on to Sam once she had him, and in the end
was of paramount importance. Thankfully, after many beatings, lacerations, and threats she packed up and left before the headlines had a chance to be more shocking than they already were.
