past decades both international and domestic terrorism have escalated so that every time one turns on the television there are reports of hijackings, stand-offs with gunmen, bombings and reports of
threats from possible attackers. (thesis)How did terrorism get to be like this, one has to wonder? And what are the goals, philosophy, of the present leadership to begin tackling this
problem? Origins Where did terrorism come from? Was there actually someone who invented the idea? Probably not. In all reality terrorism has been around since one clan fought
another. Anything that seeks to rob another person or group of their sense of security and peace is terrorism, whether it is domestically produced or of foreign origin. This
is why terrorism is so difficult to combat because a good deal of the warfare is psychological. Waiting for the next attack makes a person or nation fearful. The body,
living in a constant state of fear would induce the fight or flight response in most individuals and in the end provoke, quite likely, impulsive or ill advised actions
in order to gain some relief. Philosophies Many cultures who have been at war with one another traditionally for decades and even centuries can be said to have
perfected the art of terrorism. The Arab/Israeli conflict, gives a great example of this. Both groups of people are bound to dislike and distrust one another, both on a cultural
and political basis. In fact, much of the hostility that exists between these two peoples stems from the fact that they have warred over the same piece of territory
generation after generation. It can be said that when a nationality is permeated by a hatred that has become cultural, there can be no other result than that of continual
