the list in terms of a high priority area. Philadelphia has a large number of drug addicts as well as a large number of men that engage in sexual
activity with other men. Both of these behavioral choices, of course, dramatically increase an individuals chances of contracting Hepatitis B. The logical place to start drilling home the
relationship between unsafe sex and illicit drug use with Hepatitis B is in Philadelphias high schools. With 2,385 students, George Washington High School is one of the largest high
schools in the area. The intent of this paper is to outline a Hepatitis B interventional program for George Washington High School (GWHS). This program will span the
2010/2011 school year and reach an estimated ninety percent of the student body at GWHS, some 2,147 students.
Program Design The students at GWHS will attend three educational programs on Hepatitis B and the risk factors
that increase ones susceptibility. The first of these programs will provide an overview of the disease and its impacts. The second program will reinforce the information provided in
the first session through the use of specially-produced dramatical video tapes. The third session will be used to test the students knowledge of Hepatitis B, to assess those tests,
discuss the results, and summarize what the program has hoped to instill. Programs length will be one hour and will occur during the
