dangers of project management is failing to identify all steps of the project at the outset. The schedule already has been established by the time it becomes apparent that
steps have been overlooked. Adding other steps can destroy the established project plan or require significant adjustment, either of which will add to the total cost of the project.
Clearly, it is desirable to identify all steps before work begins. The purpose here is to describe a project plan and break
down two major activities into their smaller tasks. The Current Project The Board of Directors of HUNS PLC has been considering launching a
new product and wisely has decided to test market the product before committing full manufacturing and distribution efforts into the untried product. There are some areas in which poor
planning and slipped schedules are far too common, such as in IT-based projects. Fortunately, the HUNS project is one that involves a consumer product, for these projects can more
easily be brought back into control than can many larger projects. The plan to produce and test market this product is rather simple
and appears to be quite straightforward. Per-task costs may be seen to be higher than would be expected for a full product launch, for the temporary nature of the
program and the limited quantities with which we will be working prevent us from taking full advantage of quantity pricing in either product materials or packaging production. If the
product is as successful as anticipated and is placed into full production, then unit costs of these items will be reduced. Of course
